Secretary Ishtiaque Ahmed Khan, while responding to the white paper on rigging in general elections of May 11 released by PTI two weeks ago, pointed out that the general elections this year have been hailed all over the world as a step towards stronger democracy in the country.
Khan said that all political parties had also accepted the election results, barring certain individual complaints and reservations including the ones expressed by PTI.
Most recently, the PTI leadership rejected results of by-elections in the PP-150 constituency of Lahore. It forced the ECP to conduct a recount. The three day recount exercise ended on Wednesday confirming the results released earlier but still drew protestations from PTI.

Funny how ET publishes the same post on PTI at least a thousand times, posts comments and reccomends them and the few real Noon and Mqm supporters act like they won the elections. This site is full of trolls and robots.
@Hasan: ".....If they lost, Election were rigged. These people can’t simply handle their failure. " .
They lost again. This can be interpreted as poor supervision by ECP. IK should not accept the results but demand for a new round of elections for PP150.
IK pls. stop this "dhaandli" saga - we are all getting tired of it. Even if PTI would have won 50% more seats - it still would have lost the country to PML. Why dont you start by fulfilling 50% of your tall promises to the public. Maybe that will win you additional votes in the next election.
As they say - it is easy to awaken a sleeping man, but not one that is pretending to sleep.
ET please dont censor this comment.
Okay Guys WE GET IT. If PTI Won Elections were free and fair. If they lost, Election were rigged. These people can't simply handle their failure.
Its the love between Zardari and Nawaz.....All blushes....!!!!
hahahah.....exactly....musical chair is what Nawaz and Zardari are playing....
@saeed: Nicly put.....musical chair....today Nawaz was so happy to meet his brother Zardari. Yet their followers are blind and cannot see the two faced leaders. IK is straight forward and blunt. That is why many don't like him. They want him to be nice and make long speeches and spend money on publicity.
@MFaisal: PTI is taking revenge from those who rigged the whole may 11 drama!
Wake up faisal.
@ Saeed Most likely you have not seen the recounting of votes in PP150. The defeat of PTI's candidate has even widened after the recount. Stop crying!!
2500 page of documents are not enough for EC..thousands of video footage is not evidence...the issue here is not evidence..it is to some how put the matter of rigging under the carpet..the musical chair of power will continue between Zardari and Nawaz...I got tears in my eyes today by just looking at the love nawaz had for President zadari..
IK and PTI is taking revenge from the People of Pakistan for not Voting PTI. PTI must do something before next elections so the people of Pakistan can vote for them. PTI and IK is living in a fool's heaven if they think only the slogan of NAYA PAKISTAN will make people vote for PTI. Come out of dream and do something good for country. Shame on IK for not opposing any decision made by government in NA.
PTI and IK is not going to work for country and people of Pakistan... because they are so busy in Rigging Cases. What a Waste of time, money and energy.
For the 1000th time this year, ET keeps on fuelling anti-PTI hatred!! This is called free media!! And do post this comment!!
ma na manu ! ik plz wake up all dreams are not true !
Imran Khan and PTI only wants to listen that PTI has won the May 11, 2013 general election in the country and PML(N) have maneuvered the election results.
The day ECP will announce that Imran Khan and PTI are the winners, there will be no more complaints from PTI.
The mandate of the entire nation given to PML(N) is on one side and the desire of Imran Khan and PTI are on the other side.
ECP can you fulfill the desire of Imran Khan and PTI?
