According to a release from Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the conference was part of routine monthly meetings.
The forum dwelt at length on various professional matters. The commanders also took a comprehensive review of prevalent internal and external security situation of the country.
The meeting coincided with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif chalking out a new security plan to restore peace in Karachi, which rules out the possibility of an army intervention in the megalopolis.
Minister for Interior Affairs Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan revealed on Wednesday the plan for cleansing Karachi of criminal elements. Government's plan will be spearheaded by Rangers with support from police, in tandem with information from federal and provincial intelligence agencies.
Khan said the operation would be supervised by a committee headed by the Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah.

@Faisal: And we all know how media is controlled and fed in Pakistan. In other countries, its the civilians who use the media. In Pakistan, we all know who owns that exclusive right.
Sandip all organisations hold meetings of top management. Its upto the media how much coverage it gives to routine meetings.
How come in other democracies of the world, there's never such mention as to what the army brass is up to. Why is it that in Pakistan you get to see this bunch time and time again indulging in such photo ops with scarce a result to show for?
they always discuss, any result.
