
According to a release from Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the conference was part of routine monthly meetings.
The forum dwelt at length on various professional matters. The commanders also took a comprehensive review of prevalent internal and external security situation of the country.
The meeting coincided with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif chalking out a new security plan to restore peace in Karachi, which rules out the possibility of an army intervention in the megalopolis.
Minister for Interior Affairs Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan revealed on Wednesday the plan for cleansing Karachi of criminal elements. Government's plan will be spearheaded by Rangers with support from police, in tandem with information from federal and provincial intelligence agencies.
Khan said the operation would be supervised by a committee headed by the Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah.
