Into the open fire: Two ‘TTP terrorists’ shot dead in encounter

Police officials claimed that the terrorists were affiliated with the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan.

At least two suspected terrorists were killed during an alleged encounter with the police in Orangi Town on Tuesday.


The police officials claimed that the terrorists were affiliated with the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan. Pirabad SHO Abdul Moeed while talking to The Express Tribune said that the encounter took place when the police was carrying out routine snap-checking. It stopped the suspects riding on motorcycles but they tried to escape by opening fire at them. ASI Mehboob Kalhoro was shot and injured in the firing.

According to SHO Moeen, the police retaliated and killed two of the suspects while three of their accomplices managed to escape under the cover of firing.

The police also claimed to have found hand grenades and weapons from the possession of the deceased suspects. The bodies were shifted to the Edhi morgue in Sohrab Goth for identification after the completion of medico-legal formalities at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

The injured police inspector was also taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for treatment, where doctors termed his condition stable. The officer said that the cases were registered while further investigation was underway.
