Three alleged robbers arrested by the Aabpara Police were sent on two-day physical remand on Monday.
Mian Imran, an official from the Aabpara police, said they were arrested while fleeing after snatching three mobile phones and Rs60,000 cash at gunpoint from Sector G-7 on Sunday morning, adding that Muhammad Furqan, Muhammad Rizwan and Tahir Mehmood, were habitual offenders and had been arrested previously as well.
Police had registered a case against the three accused for robbery and dishonestly receiving stolen property.
“They are heroin addicts and cannot move very fast,” Imran claimed. “Bystanders in the area were able to corner them as they attempted to flee the scene of the crime and the police arrived soon after to arrest them.”
A pistol was also recovered from the three men, police said.
The trio’s past criminal records include arrests by Kohsar, Koral and Aabpara police officials for charges including mobile snatching and motorcycle theft.
