Delayed justice?: Polling agent sent on judicial remand

Police said the suspects were booked in a murder case registered at the Baghdadi police station in 2009.

A judicial magistrate sent, on Wednesday, a chief polling agent and his driver, on judicial remand till September 7 in a murder case.


The CID police produced Mohammad Hanif Memon, said to be the chief polling agent of Syed Riaz Hussain Shah Shirazi, a PML-N candidate in the NA-237 (Thatta) by-election, and his driver, Abdul Khaliq, before the court of the judicial magistrate.

Police said the suspects were booked in a murder case registered at the Baghdadi police station in 2009 and were arrested a few days before the Aug 22 by-election.
