HAFIZABAD:

A 15-year-old boy was beaten to death on Monday allegedly by some influential men for taking his goats into their field.

Railway Lines police have registered a case against the prime suspect, Chaudhry Waqas.

Police said Muhammad Ramazan, a resident of Kalyaki Mandi, had taken his goats for grazing to a nearby field. They said some of the goats entered Chaudhry Ghulam Abbas’s field. Seeing the goats, police said, Abbas’s son Waqas and his men beat up Ramazan with sticks. Seeing the boy fall to the ground, he and his men fled.

Some passers-by, who had seen them, informed Ramazan’s parents.

A case has been registered against Waqas and his men. Police said they had arrested Waqas and were looking for the rest of the suspects.
