KARACHI: Gulistan-e-Jauhar SHO Malik Saleem has been suspended after reports of his alleged links to the land grabbers-cum-extortionists on Sunday. His connections were uncovered after an encounter on August 15 in Madho Goth near Safari Park in which DSP Qasim Ghauri and ASI Asif died and around half a dozen police officials were wounded. Three alleged gangsters were also killed in the same encounter while nine suspects were later arrested during a search operation in Madho Goth, Hussain Hazara Goth and its neighbourhood. SHO Saleem, who was also wounded in the encounter was, however, suspended after he was found guilty during an inquiry conducted by the chief of the Criminal Investigation Agency, DIG Sultan Khawaja. DSP Nasir Lodhi confirmed the suspension and said that further action would be taken against SHO Saleem.
