Mass poisoning: Toxic liquor bootlegger arrested

21 people died after consuming the toxic liquor in Warispura on July 24 and July 25.

Police on Sunday arrested a man accused of selling poisonous liquor that killed 21 people in Faisalabad.


Batala Colony SHO Waheed Shahid told The Express Tribune that the Majid Masih would be presented before a court on Monday.

On July 24 and July 25, 21 people died and over a hundred were hospitalised after they consumed toxic liquor in Warispura, Barkatpura and Christian Town. He said many of those hospitalised ended up paralysed.  Shahid said Masih was arrested by Toba Tek Singh City Police and handed over to Batala Colony police.
