Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU) is organising a three-day celebratory event to mark its 128th Foundation Day starting from Aug 30 at its premises.
The ceremony, Past, Present and Future of Sindh Madressatul Islam, will be presided over by its chancellor, Dr Muhammad Ali Shaikh. As part of the programme, the university’s students will deliver speeches on various aspects of SMIU, including its history and impediments faced by its founder, Khan Bahadur Hassanally Effendi, during the institute’s early years, personalities of illustrious alumni, architecture of the institute and its role in imparting education to the students of rural areas of Sindh.
On Aug 31, SMIU Boys Model School and SMIU Girls Model School will jointly organise a programme at Sir Shahnawaz Bhutto Auditorium at 11am. The concluding session will be held on September 1, which will be attended by noted academicians and others.
