FAISALABAD: A couple from the Bhowana police area has sold their newborn child because “they couldn’t afford to keep him”. Nawaz Aasi and Samreen had twins a few days ago in Mohalla County Bhowana. They already had seven children. Aasi said that he had given one of the baby boys to a well-off family in Lahore for money and was trying to find a family that would take his second son as well. He told media persons that he was a poor daily wage earner and did not have the resources to feed so many children. “I have already given away one of my newborn sons and will give the other one away soon,” he said, “We wouldn’t have had to do that if the government or anyone had helped us feed our children.”
