Complaints Cell: LHC demands challan within 3 days in rape case

Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial of the Lahore High Court has directed the Toba Tek Singh district and sessions judge to make sure that the police conduct a fair and thorough investigation into an alleged rape reported a few days ago.


The LHC Complaints Cell, after reading about the incident in the press, instructed the district and sessions judge to ensure that the challan of the case is submitted within three days and then to report to the chief justice.

According to the press report, the woman in question was going home from the shops when a tailor and an accomplice abducted her. They took her to an undisclosed location, where another man was present, and raped her at gunpoint, according to the report. They then allegedly dumped her near a graveyard.
