“Construction work on Gujranwala section of the GT Road has started and should be completed by September 30,” Communication and Works Secretary Mian Mushtaq said on Sunday.

He was presiding over a meeting to review the project.

Mushtaq directed the officials concerned to speed up the work. He also reviewed ongoing projects at Wazirabad-Sialkot Road, Gujranwala Eastern Bypass and Gujranwala-Sialkot Road.

The flyover opened in July 2013 but construction of the road was delayed because Pakistan Telecommunication Company, Water and Power Development Authority and Water and Sanitation Agency were working in the area.
