
District Coordination Officer Iftikhar Ali Sahu on Sunday suspended 18 Education and Health Departments employees from service after they were found absent from duty.
The DCO and his team had made surprise visits to several schools, basic health centres and a rural health centre on Friday to monitor employees’ performance.
Those suspended from service include a senior medical officer, two medical officers, a computer operator, lady health visitors, a mid-wife, a dispenser, a naib qasid, a security guard, a school principal, a head master and some elementary school teachers. Some of them had not reported to work for more than a week. None of them had informed their seniors about their absence.
He visited Govt Higher Secondary School, Govt High School Badyanah, Govt Girls Higher Secondary School Badyanah, Govt Girls Elementary School Sohadreke, Govt Primary School Sohadreke and Govt Girl Elementary School Dorgi Haryan.
