During a heist, robbers looted 4kg of gold and Rs6.5 million from a jewellery shop located on Dhoke Seydan Road in the limits of the Race Course Police Station late on Friday.
The brazen episode bewildered the police who were clueless about the identity of the robbers.
Sources said that the robbers entered Zeeshan Jewellers and made off with 4kg of gold and Rs6.5 million and fled.
Sub-Inspector Zakkiullah said the robbers barged into the jewellery shop owned by Haji Pervaiz, smashed the locks and decamped with the gold and cash. Neighbouring shopkeepers protested against the robbery. The police, who were still conducting an initial inquiry into the incident, had not lodged an FIR till the filing of this report.
