
The city administration’s top official held a meeting on Thursday to review progress on Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) development projects which are being executed by the Capital Development Authority (CDA).
Islamabad Chief Commissioner Jawad Paul inspected projects CDA-executed uplift projects including the construction of IGP-Block in Sector G-11/4, Bari Imam Complex, the new inspector general of police office, the new Tarnol Police Station, and the construction of four police barracks in Sector G-9 and G-10 and two barracks in H-11.
Besides the chief commissioner, the meeting was attended by ICT Development Finance Director Rana Akbar Hayat, CDA Project Director Ayaz Khan and police high-ups.
Ayaz Khan told the meeting that Rs30 million has been spent on the construction of the IGP-Block and it will be completed in February 2014. He said that the work on the office of IGP has been completed 50 per cent and Rs10 million has been earmarked this year for the remaining work.
The meeting was told that 72 per cent construction work on 15 houses for superintendents of police (SPs) in H-11 has been completed and the remaining work will be competed in the next three months.
The meeting was told that Rs0.78 million has been spent on the construction of the Tarnol Police Station and it would be handed over to the police in September.
Similarly, 90 per cent work on police barracks in sectors G-9 and G-10 has been completed. The meeting was informed that work on the construction of two police barracks in Sector H-11 has also been completed. The chief commissioner directed the officials to further expedite the work on the projects.
