The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Home and Tribal Affairs department has released Rs150 million for payment as financial compensation to victims of terror attacks in the province.

Out of the total amount, Rs50 million each would be handed to the commissioners of Peshawar and Mardan divisions, while Rs10 million each would be given to the commissioners of Malakand, Hazara, Kohat, DI Khan and Bannu divisions, according to a press release issued by the department on Wednesday.

The handout said all seven divisional commissioners can also use the funds to pay compensation to those whose houses were fully or partially damaged in terror incidents. “The [house] damage assessment may be carried out on the analogy of the Provincial Disaster Management Authority, as per its instructions,” read the press release.

On the other hand, Rs300,000 each would be handed to victims whose houses were completely destroyed in any terror incident, while Rs100,000 would be given to people whose houses were partially damaged.
