HARIPUR: Four people, including two women, were killed as a result of a roof collapse in a remote village of Haripur on Wednesday.

Eyewitnesses told police that two brothers and two sisters were sleeping in a two room house when the roof collapsed, burying all those inside.

Rescue workers recovered the bodies and moved them to Women and Children Hospital, where the doctors pronounced them dead.

Police said the condition of the house had dilapidated after the recent heavy rains in the area.

The dead were identified as Sadaqat, Nazakat, Fatima and Shama.

Heavy rains have also damaged several roads and home in Haripur. Flooded causeways have also suspended traffic on GT Road near Sera-e-Saleh, Railway Road, Khanpur and Hatar Road.
