BERLIN: A German company with some 180 employees has introduced its answer to Apple's iPad in Berlin.

According to the makers, the Asian-made German competitor by Berlin-based company "Neofonie" looks similar to an iPad but is different.

The manager said the iPad works very well but it's like a television for the Internet. He added that pre-ordering for Neofonie's "WePad" starts April 27.

Prices for the "WePad" start at 449 euros for a Wi-Fi device with 16GB while the 32 GB version and full HD video costs 569 euros.
