Murder of Nanga Parbat investigators: 14 suspects arrested in Diamer

GILGIT: Police arrested 14 men in Diamer on Wednesday on suspicion of murdering three security officials in charge of investigating the Nanga Parbat tragedy in Chilas.

In an interview with Radio Pakistan‚ DIG police Gilgit said that investigations have started in the murder of military and police officers.

On Tuesday, an attack by the new Jandul Hafsa faction of the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) saw three security officials killed while they were traveling to their rest house in Chilas.

Superintendent Police Hilal Ahmed, Colonel Ghulam Mustafa and Captain Ashfaq Aziz. Col Mustafa were investigating the barbaric slaughter of nine foreign trekkers and a Pakistani guide at the base camp of Nanga Parbat, on June 23.

The same faction of the TTP had claimed responsibility for the killings of the trekkers as well.

Nothing is going to happen. Its a cricket match. Sometimes the police knock a few off and sometimes the murderers knock the police off.
