KARACHI: The value-added textile sector has shown its concern over the indifferent attitude by the government for not appointing a minister for commerce even after the government is close to completing its 100 days. Members of the textile sector have shown concern over the uncertainty over the appointment of the minister of commerce and the fate of the textile ministry. Acting Chairman Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PRGMEA) Irfan Ali said in a statement that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has yet to name a commerce minister or even decide the fate of the textile ministry despite that fact that he is known as a pro-business leader of PLM-N. The government had previously hinted at the dissolution of the textile ministry to reduce government expenditure and avoid lobbying.
