LAHORE:

An additional district and sessions judge has sought comments from the Johar Town SHO by August 7 on a petition filed by a drama actor seeking a case against five people for alleged contract fraud.

Petitioner Qaisar Rasheed, alias Qaisar Pia, submitted that he had signed an agreement with Imran Ali and his sister Shahida Perveen on July 16 to work with them until 2015. Imtiaz Ali, Ashgar Ali and Shehzad acted as witnesses.

The petitioner said that he was illiterate and the producers took advantage of this by inserting sections in the contract after he had signed it and without informing him. He said that they had inserted a clause barring him from performing in other plays or stage shows for two years. Another clause stated that if there were a dispute between the parties, the actor would have to return his entire advance payment.

He said that when he complained about this to the producers, they threatened him. He asked the court to direct the Johar Town SHO to register a case against the producers and witnesses.
