ISLAMABAD:

The Islamabad deputy commissioner (DC) on Friday suspended four revenue officials for remaining absent from work.

The four revenue officials — Muhammad Aseem, Abid Hassan, Malik Mukhtar Ahmed and Riaz Ali Shah, were deputed in various union councils.

Recently, a complaint cell had been established in the city to entertain public complaints against revenue officials. The cell had also been linked to offices of all assistant commissioners, DC and the capital’s chief commissioner. Islamabad DC Amer Ali Ahmed held a meeting with officials to review the overall performance of the revenue department.

The DC asked the officials to heed public complaints and warned that corruption and absenteeism would not be tolerated.

The offices of senior Islamabad Capital Territory officials will be open on Saturday to plan Eid security arrangements.
