BAHAWALPUR: All Pakistan Clerks Association (APCA) has demanded a 15 per cent allowance and a raise in salaries.
APCA Health and Population Unit staged a demonstration in front of the Health Department and took out a mock funeral. APCA’s Cholistan Development Authority and Zoo units blocked the road in front of the Bahawalpur Zoo and stadium. Social Welfare, Education Department and District Council officials blocked the Railway Road to demand allowance and salaries’ review.
Addressing with the protesters, APCA Divisional President Rana Waheed Sultan and Divisional Chairman Malik Muhammad Khalid said that the demonstration was meant to get the attention of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif. They said thousands of officials had been discouraged. They rejected the 10 per cent increase and called for more.
