Speaking to the media at Sukkur airport, he said the possibility of the MQM becoming a part of the Sindh government still exists.
However, he said that the doors for an alliance with MQM would not be closed, despite it being too late.
MQM was also a part of the PPP led government from 2008 to 2013, and sat in the opposition in the last few days of the PPP led government’s tenure, he said.
MQM had previously criticised Shah when he first went to Liyari after taking office.
The party has already declared its support for PML-N candidate Mamnoon Hussain in the presidential elections, that the PPP has decided to boycott.
Previously, PPP leader Manzoor Hussain Wasan had also stated the possibility of MQM joining the government.
On June 26, the two parties pledged to set aside their differences as the MQM announced its unconditional support for PML-N candidate Mamnoon Hussain in the upcoming presidential election.

PTi, PTI hnn Mma mmm PTI, Now MQM Lota???
So the set-up will be the same in the whole country, just PPP be replaced with PML-N, They were right, PPP and PML-N were playing BARI BARI...
MQM has defeated PPP on political chessboard. Good politics by MQM.
MQM would have still supported PPP had PPP tried to deliver on good governance, local government elections and better law and order solution. It is not about power grabbing, as MQM has not joined the government. In addition, it is also not just about jumping a sinking ship, because the most sunk ship in Pakistan right now in Musharraf, but MQM still supports him. Why? Because he delivered on development and governance. Had PPP done that, MQM would still be supporting it.
Is there any ruling party or a dictator that MQM has not joined in for power?
@CM Q.A. Shah: I am certainly in violation of some etiquette by daring to advise someone as old and wise as you. However, I am forced to tell you, by now you should have realised that one of the basic rules of politics being, In politics, everyone sleeps with everyone.
I agree with the CM of Sindh but one should also understand that MQM is a Shark Fish which can not live or survive without deep sea waters and that is our establishment. I hope they will not become party in destabilizing the Sindh government. Remember they are Kings Party.
Is he one of the dirty politicians from the 'Burka Avenger'?
Mqm and PPP are terrorist organizations and ought to be banned
.......and for 5 years the PPP was that very same.............. anyone.
Well Shah Saheb, MQM is the the good time that everyone had...Don't forget that it jumped from the Q-League's bed into yours without a scruple not many moons ago. And the bed-hopping continues. Be patient. Who knows, they just might join you in the provincial government !!
MQM is simply jumping off a sinking ship - seems like the logical thing to do
They can do whatever they want... but I just say that leave the people alone..
No Mr Dar! Running off to Supreme Court and involving it in every matter political is against democracy. PMLN and Supreme Court have made it a matter of enslavement or death for other parties in a very short time in power. So PPP is not only right but even PTI has acknowledged the bias of the Court.
MQm can do everything for his powèr. Real matter is for government who is every thing as previous government done.which is very alarming for the country.
And PPP will partner with anyone to strengthen its corrupt government!
@Farhan: I completely agree. 100 percent correct. But Mr. Shah what would you do if you were in a good negotiating position like MQM?
MQM is not in a "good negotiating position". Rather it is the opposite. It is a temporary cooperation from PMLN only for the presidential elections. Ch. Nisar, Khawaja Asif, and Shahbaz Sharif, all are very much against any partnership with MQM. MQM on the other hand is in a desperate situation. First, it needs the help of federal government for Altaf Hussain. Second, it does not want any military/police operation in Karachi. They like the status quo, where it can run its operations with full impunity to fund its leader in London. After the election, PML-N will treat MQM like it did to the PML-Q Hum khyal group.
Check mate by PML n.... Stay tuned for possible tit for tat governor rule in Sind.
The term which the senior CM is looking for is that MQMQ is Political Iron Ore.
Very true statement.
So you agree that PPP belongs to anyone?
@shah: "when sindh leadership of PPP is asleep with “Bhang”, every one has the right to think for his betterment" . Does not matter whether it is a Bhang or Charas, PPP will never open its eyes.
I don't see what's so wrong in this. PMLN did say in its manifesto as well as on the campaign trail that they were willing to negotiate with terrorists.
That is why PPP was on its Knees begging MQM, to Join there govt last month and during the last term. Although, MQM has chose to distant itself from the government in near future. It seems to be that Mr Qaim Ali Shah, is so tensed by his and his party's failure that he doesn't know whom to blame.
I completely agree. 100 percent correct. But Mr. Shah what would you do if you were in a good negotiating position like MQM?
Secondly, every informed person of Karachi knows that the militant group (Aman Committee) PPP is feeding in Lyari is much more ruthless than any other killing machine in Pakistan. Aman Committee terrorists are doing kidnapping for ransom and all other henious crimes under patronage of your party, Mr. Shah, and you know everything.
What is wrong in partnering with other political entities to form a government and govern our State with examplery good governance, after all why else would we vote for you or anyone else including MQM. If you find MQM as willing as you make it sound then it's just fine, go ahead and request them to start negotiations and find out how best you & MQM, together, can serve our Province and our Country and our People.
Okay, here is the full story.
Ishaq Dar is know to be an ultra dove in pml n ( take the way he caved into everything during 18th amendment negotiations). Although indirectly related to Nawaz Sharif, he is not at all widely respected in conservative and right PML N base.
So I would read this more like Dar going out on his own. Alliance with MQM under Altaf will NOT be accepted by PML N base.
Yes, some expediency there because of the elections.. but there is NOT going to be any formal alliance.
Kindly dont make us fool anymore,, this is the same thing you did "three times" during last five years.. dont blame others
MQM seems to be distancing itself from losers.
