RAWALPINDI: Dozens of unwrapped tyres were confiscated by the Rawal Town Municipal Administration on Sunday in raids conducted at tyre shops in the city. The measures have been taken by the administration to control a potential outbreak of dengue. Shopkeepers were warned that all tyres, whether new or old, should be properly packed and covered to minimise the risk of mosquito breeding. Petrol pumps and repair shops have also been ordered to ensure that no water is accidentally stored in the tyres.
