Liver disease : Under trial prisoner dies at hospital

Ali had 11 children from his two wives, while his body was handed over to his family for the burial.

KARACHI: An under trial prisoner, arrested by the police about two months ago, died at Civil hospital on Monday. Azmat Ali, 36, son of Mir Muhammad, a resident of Muslimabad area of Landhi’s Quaidabad, was arrested by Quaidabad police on April 1 for possessing an illegal weapon. An FIR no. 119/13 was registered against him and he was sent to Malir District Jail. The jail police official said that the deceased was suffering from liver diseases and was sent to the hospital after his condition worsened. The hospital’s medico-legal officer, Dr Aftab Channar, confirmed his death and said that the prisoner was brought to the hospital on Sunday and was admitted to the medical ward no. 3, where he died. Ali had 11 children from his two wives, while his body was handed over to his family for the burial.
