Sindh government reduces 10 departments

KARACHI: Sindh Government Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has approved the merger of several departments including the local government department of the Sindh government, Express News reported.

This will reduce the total number of departments in the Sindh government from 47 to 37.

The Sindh local government department, Housing and Town Plannning, Rural Development, and Public Health Engineering will now all fall under one department.

The Sindh local government department and Public Health Engineering, that previously used to be one department, have now been merged again.

Similarly, Labour and Industry used to be a single department, and will now be merged again.

Several departments will now be merged with one or more departments, and will be operated by one minister.
