KARACHI:

Around 100 players from Karachi are set to take part in the inaugural Environment Friendly Trophy Ranking Tennis championship that will begin at the Bath Island club today.

Top-seed Fahim Ramzan will lead the men’s singles event in the Ramazan tournament, while Hania Naveed will be the women’s top seed in the competition. “Tennis at night is still a new concept,” Fahim told The Express Tribune. “But by holding a ranking tournament in this format, it will help promote the game.”

Sindh Tennis Association President Khalid Rehmani said the first Ramazan night tennis tournament took place last year, and due to a good response, the organisers decided to hold the event again.
