ISLAMABAD: The President on the advice of the Prime Minister has accorded his approval to the amendments in Shariah Nizam-e-Adl Regulation 2009 along with draft Shariah Nizam-e-Adl (Amendment) Regulation, 2013 in terms of Article 247(4) of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The amendment aims at streamlining and expediting the submission of complete challans by the police to the court, says a notification. The amendment binds the police to submit complete challan through the public prosecutor within 14 days. If the police fails to do so and the magistrate has not granted any special extension in the 14 days limit disciplinary proceedings will be initiated against the police officer.
