BAHAWALPUR:

Additional Sessions Judge Sardar Akram Khan, on Saturday, directed a bailiff to recover a 15-year old who had been detained at the A Division police station in Rahim Yar Khan.

Petitioner Niaz Ahmed, a resident of Muradpur, submitted that the police had detained his son Saddam Hussain, a student of class 10. He said that Hussain had taken his matriculation exams and had gone to his grandfather’s house near Jinnah Park, Rahim Yar Khan, to look for a job two months ago.

He had found work at a cell phone shop owned by Makhdoom Asad and Mehmood on Shahi Road. On July 10, Hussain asked his employers to pay him his salary for two months.

Instead, they beat him, accused him of stealing from the shop and had him locked up.

The judge issued orders for Hussain’s release and told police to have the child medically examined. He also summoned the shop owners and the SHO in court on July 16.
