Reduce mark-up rate, suggest dyers

KARACHI: The newly elected chairman of the Pakistan Chemical and Dyes Merchants Association, Haroon Agar, has urged the government to reduce the mark-up rate, utility tariff and customs duty. Speaking at the 37th annual general body meeting of the association on Thursday, he said that the government should consult stakeholders before finalising the imposition or increase of a new tax.

He said the government must discover new ways to generate revenue. He pleaded that with the reduction of duties and utility tariff, the cost of doing business will go down, which will ultimately reduce prices of the final products.
