World U21 Snooker Championship: Majid registers second successive win

Defeats Sweden’s Sharif in IBSF World U21 Snooker Championship.

Mohammad Majid kept Pakistan’s title bid alive at the IBSF World U21 Snooker Championship as he notched up his second consecutive win on day two of the competition in Beijing, China.

Majid defeated Sweden’s Belan Sharif in their best-of-seven encounter, taking victory with frame scores of 82-10, 83-35, 82-19 and 75-14.

Following Majid, Amir Tariq also clinched a second win as he thrashed India’s Rahul Ajay Sachdev 4-1.

Amir lost the first frame, but hit back to win with frame scores of 45-69, 63-33, 72-11, 63-52 and 95-01.

However, there was an unexpected loss for the inform Humza Akbar as he went down 4-1 to Australia’s Cale Barrett. Akbar put up a fight but went down with scores of 77-48, 52-44, 65-55, 08-82 and 61-53.

Meanwhile, Pakistan witnessed another defeat as Mohsin Amin too suffered a similar loss at the hands of India’s Nitesh Madaan, who won 99-30, 68-41, 08-69, 63-39 and 57-16.
