FAISALABAD:

A judicial magistrate on Friday ordered that the medical report of a 15-year-old hospital patient allegedly raped by a district headquarters hospital doctor be re-examined.

The court also constituted a medical board headed by the district hospital medical superintendent (MS) and ordered the board to submit its report in few days.

The girl had submitted in her petition that she was kidnapped and detained by Dr Nasir Baig on June 28. She said Baig repeatedly raped her for three days before abandoning her near the hospital gate on July 1.

The girl said the hospital staff had misbehaved with her when she went there for a medical examination. She said Dr Kaneez Fatima had not properly examined her.

Her father told the media on Friday the police as well as the hospital doctors were covering up for the accused doctor.

“The doctors and the police officials are pressuring us to withdraw the complaint,” he said.

On July 7, an inquiry committee formed by the district headquarters hospital to investigate the matter had declared Baig innocent.

He said the Medical Teachers’ Association had given a strike call Baig’s implication in the rape case. Instead, he said, they should have had stood for the ‘raped girl.’
