LAHORE:

The report of the Fire Safety Commission was submitted to the Lahore High Court on Thursday. The Fire Safety Commission reviewed the recommendations of the Fire Protection Association of Pakistan (FPAP). FPAP said had proper emergency exits been provided, many lives might have been saved in the LDA Plaza fire.

The report, submitted by Rescue DG Rizwan Naseer, said the petitioner had tried to misguide the court and cast doubt on the integrity of the commission and Rescue 1122. Advocate Rafay Alam said that the petitioner had sought to influence the work of the Fire Safety Commission by misreporting facts after the previous proceedings. Justice Mansoor Ali Shah said that he had never passed an order, removing Rescue DG Rizwan Naseer from chairmanship of Fire Safety Commission.
