LAHORE: A lawyer on Wednesday filed a petition in the Lahore High Court (LHC) seeking disqualification of Pakistan Peoples Party Senator Babar Awan for having a bogus doctorate degree.

Advocate Afaq Ahmad alleged that Awan’s degree was a fake. He said Awan had misled the Election Commission Pakistan when he filed his nomination papers for the Senate election.

He prayed that the court disqualify Awan by invoking provisions of Articles 62 and 63 of the Constitution.
