Workshop: Critical thinking for a better future

As many as 20 young faculty members and students from five universities of KP and Punjab attended the training.

“Critical thinking is essential for personal growth and development,” University of Gujrat VC Dr Nizamud Din has said. He was speaking at a workshop on Peace and Democracy Through Critical Thinking. The workshop was organised by Bargad Organisation for Youth Development in collaboration with Henrich Boll Stiftung (HBS) and University of Gujrat.


HBS Country Director Britta Peterson said that critical thinking was the basis of freedom. She spoke of German philosophers work on critical thinking. Student Affairs Director Shabbir Hussain Shah said the Pakistani youth needed to develop critical and logical skills to address social issues. Bargad Executive Director Sabiha Shaheen said the youth were confused about many issues. She said this made them vulnerable to extremism and terrorism. As many as 20 young faculty members and students from five universities of KP and Punjab attended the training.
