SUKKUR: A protest was held by traders and social activists in Thull on Tuesday against rising lawlessness.

Following a robbery incident at Madina Chowk in the morning, traders closed their shops and gathered at Rahber Chowk to vent their anger against the incident and apathy on the part of law enforcers.

A group of armed men entered the shop of Santosh Kumar and robbed him of his cell phone and Rs250,000. They also injured him for resisting the robbery bid.

Speaking on the occasion, Jay Chand Lal of Shehree Ittehad and Ganj Bux Noonari of Kiryana Association said that criminals were operating in broad day light and the police were acting as silent spectators.

Thull SHO Qurban Khokhar reached the protest site and gave assurances that the culprits would be arrested.
