PSF president lauds Pakistan’s success

KARACHI: The president of the Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) and Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt, lauded the nation’s performance as he awarded the recently-crowned Asian Junior Champion Ali Bokhari.

In 2012, Pakistan won the Asian Senior Team Championship in Kuwait and then went on to win a gold medal at the Asian Masters in Lahore before claiming silver medal at the World Junior Team Championship in Doha.

This year, Pakistan secured gold medal in the Asian Junior Team Championship in Korea, while Aamir Atlas became the first Pakistani player to win the Asian Senior Individual Championship in Islamabad in 15 years.

Bokhari pocketed Rs50,000, while also bagging Rs30,000 for being runner-up last year. Nasir Iqbal and Mansoor Zaman received Rs100,000 and Rs50,000 respectively for their performances at the PSF-POF International Squash Circuit-II.
