Election matters: PS-64’s by-elecions to be held in August

Around 51 polling stations would be set up for women in addition to 17 combined stations.

MIRPURKHAS: The district returning officer has announced that by-elections for Sindh Assembly’s constituency PS-64 would be held on August 22 for which the process of receiving nomination papers was started on Saturday.

The elections on May 11 for PS-64 were postponed because of the death of one of the candidates.

Pakistan Peoples Party’s Saeed Qureshi, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s Shahid Ameen, Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s Aftab Qureshi and Pakistan Muslim League-Functional’s Mukhitar Narejo and other candidates have obtained their forms.

The district returning officer said the number of total registered voters is 146,504, including 79,366 men and 67,138 women, for whom 119 polling stations will be set up.

Around 51 polling stations would be set up for women in addition to 17 combined stations.
