Mohammad Siddique continued his impressive run at the Sindh Open Golf Championship, recording a 10-under-par at the Arabian Sea Country Club (ASCC) yesterday.
Siddique, who is representing the Lyallpur Golf Club, comfortably led the competition on the second day, according to information provided by an ASCC official.
“Siddique has proved himself against his more experienced opponents,” the official told The Express Tribune. “He is definitively a favourite to win the event.
“Other top golfers such as Mohammad Afzal and Shabbir Iqbal failed to improve their rankings on the second day. Hopefully we will see a better competition during the final day.”
However, the highlight was Hamza Amin’s performance as he finished in second position with a nine-under-par.
The Islamabad Golf Club member set a new record of managing a gross score of 65 on the course, added the official.
Meanwhile, Muhammad Muneeb, belonging to Islamabad Golf Club, secured third position with an eight-under-par.
In the amateur’s category, Rawalpindi Gold Club’s Ghazanfar Mehmmod finished first out of 43 participants with a three under-par.
The Sindh Open Golf Championship is featuring 75 golfers in the professional category, while the top 40 vie for the prize-money of Rs1.6 million today.
