KARACHI:

A district and sessions court sent Mansoor Mujahid, a noted filmmaker, his female friend, and a woman who had initially complained about the murder of banker Faisal Nabi to jail custody till July 8, on Friday.

On Thursday, the investigating officer, Irshad Karim, had submitted an application before the court, seeking to present the three witnesses before the court to record their statements under section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code. The police had brought the suspects before a judicial magistrate in district South, Hatim Aziz Solangi.

Karim failed, however, to show up and submit the police file without any written intimation in the court, said a court official. A process server of the Clifton police station told The Express Tribune that he had verbally informed the court that the investigation officer would not be able to appear before the court.

Mansoor Mujahid and his friend A* have been booked for allegedly killing their  ‘friend’. The suspects were in police custody since June 23.
