Detonation: IED explodes in Jamrud, no loss reported

Officials reported three kilogrammes of high-intensity explosives had been used in the bomb.

JAMRUD: A bomb planted on the roadside by unidentified militants detonated, spreading panic among residents of Lashora in Jamrud subdivision of Khyber Agency on Friday. “An improvised explosive device (IED) connected to a remote-controlled device exploded soon after Friday prayers which spread fear among the tribesmen of Lashora who were returning from the nearby mosques.” said Asmatullah Wazir, an official of the political administration. He explained tribesmen from the area reported they were returning to their houses from the mosque in Chapri when a loud explosion occurred at the roadside. Officials rushed to the spot however, no loss was reported. The official added after the explosion khasadar officials along with BDS officials went to the site and reported three kilogrammes of high-intensity explosives had been used in the bomb.
