DI KHAN:

Three suspects were arrested during a joint operation conducted by police and the Pakistan Army in the mountainous regions of DI Khan bordering Lakki Marwat district.

According to a police official, under the supervision of DI Khan DPO Sohail Khan, both police and army carried out a search operation in Wanda, Bada, Panyala and other areas bordering Lakki Marwat. The operation lasted 12 hours.

Three suspects were arrested and shifted to an unknown location for interrogations, he added.

“The hideouts of suspects built deep into the mountains in Tekana were also destroyed,” the official claimed, adding locals had been complaining of the presence of militants.

The areas raided are notorious for harbouring criminals and suspected militants responsible for kidnappings and other criminal activities on DI Khan–Peshawar Road.
