LAHORE: Postgraduate trainees at Shaikh Zayed Hospital on Wednesday postponed their protest for one day after Professor Zafar Iqbal assured them that their issues would be resolved.

The protesting trainees said they had not been paid their stipends for the last six months, which had forced them to launch a protest against the hospital’s administration.

The doctors gathered just outside the hospital and shouted slogans condemning the administration. Dr Zafar Iqbal, the hospital’s chairman, defused the situation and assured the protesting trainees that the payments of stipends issue would be resolved.
