Care starts Zakat drive

There are over 9 million children out of school in Pakistan, the second highest number in the world, says Seema Aziz.

One of Pakistan’s largest trustee school system kicked off Ramzan preparations with a charity drive. Care Foundation, an educational foundation by Seema Aziz, started its annual Zakat fundraising campaign on Monday and held a press conference at Shadman office on Tuesday to shed light on its campaign.

The conference was inaugurated with a documentary of highlighting the achievements of Care Foundation.

Seema Aziz said Care Foundation was a non-profit educational foundation dedicated to providing quality education to underprivileged children in Pakistan.

She said currently there were over 9 million children out of school in Pakistan, the second highest number in the world.

Care Foundation provides education to over 160,000 children through a network of 234 schools around Pakistan. However, with an expanding population the need for more schools and teachers has grown exponentially. Seema said that Care Foundation aimed to enroll 1 million students within the next 5 years.
