Larkana police finally managed to locate on Monday five idols, which were stolen from a Hindu temple in Harijan Basti in Ali Goharabad, earlier on Saturday night.
The police also claimed to have arrested three people over their alleged involvement in the theft. Joint teams of Larkana ASP Hassan Sardar Niazi and SHO Market police station, Miran Khan Durrani, raided a house in Golimar, Allahabad and arrested Abdul Sattar Kumbhar while his accomplice, Ayaz Shaikh, managed to escape.
Acting on information provided by the detainee, the police raided a junk dealer’s shop at Bunder Road and arrested Abdul Karim Shaikh and his son, Naeem Shaikh, and seized the stolen idols from their possession.
Later, the police released Abdul Karim Shaikh on personal surety but Naeem Shaikh and Abdul Sattar Kumbhar are still in police custody. The gold locket, weighing 15 grammes, has yet to be found and investigation is under way. Larkana ASP Hassan Sardar Niazi told The Express Tribune that all five idols were found in broken condition. He added that the Larkana SSP has announced commendation certificates and cash reward for the police party for the successful investigation.

Good work police. But the statues are broken and gold is gone. Good work at finding the artifacts, the statues were a remnant and workmanship of a bygone era. At least, police retrieved it. Rab rakha
