Drug peddling: Two held, 4kg hashish seized

On a tip-off, a police party raided a hideout and arrested two women.

MUZAFFARABAD: Police on Monday arrested two suspected women drug peddlers and recovered four kilograms of hashish from them.

The incident is first of its kind to have occurred in the city. On a tip-off, a police party raided a hideout and arrested two women, who were identified as Saleha and Hajra, residents of Central Plate, the police said.

The official said that the suspects confessed of their involvement in selling drugs. Station House Officer (SHO) City Police Station Rashid Habib told The Express Tribune that the arrested women confessed that they have ‘a huge clientele in the city’.

The arrested women told the investigators that they transported the drugs to the city from Mansehra.

An FIR had been lodged and further investigation is underway.
