
The protestors blocked Multan Road and demanded that the culprits be immediately arrested.
Imran, Shakeel and Shamsheer, who were among the protestors, told the media that the deceased, Muhammad Imran, a security guard at a petrol pump, was abducted and killed on June 24.
They said Imran, who had been deployed at Fawara Chowk petrol pump, had an argument with Sub-Inspector Abdul Ali.
They said Abdul Ali and the pump owners, Rafiq Pasha, Jamal Pasha and Saleem, took Imran away tortured him to death. They said the men later dumped Imran’s body near Chak 31BC in Abbas Nagar police’s jurisdiction.
They said Chaudhry Muhammad Ameen, the Chak 31BC lumberdar, had discovered the body.
They said they had identified the body and submitted an application to a magistrate for its hand-over.
Meanwhile, Kotwali police have registered a case against the petrol pump owners but Sub-Inspector Abdul Ali has not been nominated in the FIR.
Cooperatives Minister Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channar on Sunday visited the victim’s family members and assured them that justice would be served.
Talking to The Express Tribune City ASP Zeeshan Shafiq Sadiqui said that the investigation was underway. “Whoever is found guilty will be arrested,” he said.
