ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani said on Saturday that the armies of Pakistan and Sri Lanka have enjoyed the highest degree of mutual trust and cooperation for the larger cause of preserving peace in their respective countries and the region at large.

“Pakistan Army would continue to support Sri Lankan Army in its pursuit of excellence,” COAS said while addressing the passing out parade at Sri Lankan Military Academy, says a press release received here. He said it is a matter of honour and privilege for him to have been invited by General Jagath Jayasuriya, Commander of Sri Lankan Army, to review the passing out.

He said the Sri Lankan Army has proved its mettle under the most trying circumstances and has emerged victorious not only in the context of purging the menace of militancy and violence but also in pursuit of post conflict peace and stability.

Next time while Srilanka team visit Pakistan, let them bring their own security/military to protect themselves from the terrorists as the inefficient Pakistan Army cannot do anything in this matter.
